The Quimpos
Discover the inspiring journey of the Quimpo family of Kalibo, Aklan, as they champion the JCI spirit in the province as founders and members of JCI since 1949.
A family of esteemed professionals, their commitment goes beyond mere actions and words – it embodies their very lifestyles, character, and beliefs. The Quimpos continue to serve their communities despite World War II, the COVID19 Pandemic, the climate crisis and an ever changing world.
With individuals such as a mayor during the second war, a legislator who ushered in the golden age of Philippine education legislation, an environmentalist grappling with nature and human injustice and a young lawyer championing the poor.
Stretching 4 generations, 20 members since inception, resulting in 4 local organization presidents – the Quimpos’ blood remains strong in JCI Aklan Kalantiao with 8 active members in 2023.

HAEAMPAKAN
In a province obsessed with basketball, there is this sport that produced better opportunities for education and inspired local talents to follow their dreams to be on the big screen. Volleyball for Aklanon youth is lurking under the shadows of Basketball.
To this date, there is one (1) University Athletic Association Of The Philippines (UAAP) and (20) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) volleyball athletes from Aklan. This is considered the grandest sporting stage where collegiate athletes can participate. Meanwhile, basketball gets most of the playing time in the public venue. We have zero athletes who made it to the top. JCI Aklan Kalantiao organized “Haeampakan” a program that empowers, modernizes, and creates a positive impact on the volleyball community.
With the goal to shed light on the volleyball community and help empower the young. We have invited a world-class Italian coach and professional Filipino volleyball Italian coach and professional Filipino volleyball sports analyst. sports analyst.
